Social Housing Group Puts Its Trust In Rider Levett Bucknall

Rider Levett Bucknall has cemented a partnership with housing group Anchor Trust as it embarks on a multi-million pound refurbishment project to upgrade its portfolio of retirement and residential care homes.

It is the first time the group has worked with Anchor Trust and is a major coup for the property and regeneration specialist after it won the partnership through an extremely competitive tender process.

Anchor Trust, which began life as Help the Aged (Oxford), is the UK's largest not-for-profit provider of housing, support and care for older people. It has a 10,000-strong workforce and more than 50,000 people benefit from its services every week.

The trust is investing around £3m in refurbishing its portfolio in the North and Midlands, and the Birmingham, Manchester and Liverpool offices of Rider Levett Bucknall are providing project management, building surveying, contract administration and employers agent services throughout the three year framework agreement.

Chris Hartley, Managing Partner at Rider Levett Bucknall, says that Anchor Trust's primary aim is to improve the lives of older people, and in delivering the group's professional services, Rider Levett Bucknall is looking to support Anchor Trust's lead for corporate social responsibility.

He says: "This is an exciting opportunity to marry delivery of our core services with our vision of social responsibility and sustainability."
