After a rigorous and highly-competitive tender process Rider Levett Bucknall is now in the frame to help transform and rejuvenate areas of the West Midlands.
In a major coup, the practice beat off many of its construction and property consultancy rivals to join a number of advisory panels for Advantage West Midland's (AWM) new framework agreement.
AWM, the regional development agency for the area, has undertaken a huge re-tendering exercise to appoint experts onto its panels following the expiry of the previous framework set up in 2003.
Rider Levett Bucknall has worked with AWM for many years and has advised on a number of high-profile projects designed to breathe new life into areas in need of regeneration, including the £64m Bilston Urban Village development.
Now, after being appointed onto four out of seven panels within the framework, the practice will continue its relationship with AWM. Under the three-year agreement, the Birmingham, Sheffield, Manchester and Liverpool offices will provide project management, property services, quantity surveying and CDM coordinator services as the development agency continues to plough millions of pounds into improving the region through land and property regeneration.
Nigel Mason, Partner at the Birmingham office of Rider Levett Bucknall, says the new protocol for the 2007 framework is a great opportunity for the practice as not all of the consultants on the previous framework panels have been reappointed.
He says: "We have been massively successful in being appointed onto four out of seven consultant panels and have strengthened our presence with AWM after the 2003 panel appointments."
"This makes our increased presence an even better opportunity to build on a successful relationship with AWM and prove we do not just provide expert cost advice but are a truly multi-disciplinary consultancy."
