Rider Levett Bucknall Advises On £88m German Shopping Deal

Rider Levett Bucknall has once again demonstrated its strength in the retail sector and presence on the international stage following a £88m shopping spree in Germany.

The property and construction advised Henderson Global Investors on its purchase of the Ooz Shopping Cite in the German spa town of Baden Baden.

Henderson bought the shopping centre, which was the first of its kind in Germany, from the developer, and Rider Levett Bucknall provided technical due diligence on the £88m purchase, managing a team of local specialists.

It also provided project management and building and quantity surveying services on the final stages of the development.

Andy Mace, Partner at the London office of Rider Levett Bucknall, says it was the first time the group had worked with Henderson Global Investors which recognised its reputation in the international retail sector.

He says: "This was a very challenging project which involved interfacing between the German and British teams and working with different expectations and standards. But our wealth of industry experience and expertise ensured that we were able to deliver another successful retail project."
