Rider Levett Bucknall (RLB) has mustered staff from across the UK in the battle to help insurance firms cope with a deluge of flood-related claims.

Insurance firms face payouts of £2.5 billion in clean up bills following the UK's wettest summer on record.

Now RLB's Birmingham, Bristol, London, Manchester and Sheffield operations are working for loss adjuster Cunningham Lindsey on some 2,000 claims settlements worth approximately £40 million.

Hotspots include Yorkshire, Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire, and Worcestershire and the Midlands.

"The team will remain deployed to this project until construction works are complete and normality is restored to the flooded areas," said RLB associate Errol Stewart.

Additional RLB resource has also been allocated to other clients affected by the extreme weather conditions including the National Farmers Union, Gloucester City Council and Sandwell Metropolitan Council.
