Rider Levett Bucknall Scoops First Frontier Homes Deal In £100m Mixed Use Scheme

Rider Levett Bucknall (Birmingham) has been appointed by Frontier Homes as project manager and quantity surveyor to a £100 million mixed use landmark scheme in Northamptonshire.

Frontier Homes is the new dedicated residential focussed division of Frontier Estates, one of the UK's most active and successful property development companies.

Located just off Junction 15 of the M1, the multi million pound scheme at Grange Park is one of the first to be fully developed by the new Frontier division. It comprises an integrated mix of 420 private and social houses and apartments and up to 175,000 sq ft of commercial space.

100,000 sq ft of the site will be home to offices with the remaining space taken by a 3* plus 150 bedroom hotel. The creation of a 2.5 acre landscaped park will create an attractive parkland focus at the heart of the scheme.

Outline planning for the innovative 280,000 sq ft development is due to be submitted next month (August).

Mark Weaver, managing partner at Ryder Levett Bucknall said: "Creating sustainable homes and communities is now top of the agenda for any committed developer and this Northampton site certainly meets the necessary criteria. Not only will this scheme breathe a new lease of life into the area but create new employment opportunities and deliver a positive boost to the local economy too.

"This is the first time that we have worked with Frontier Homes and we are delighted to be involved in such an exciting sustainable project with such a bright future."

Subject to outline planning consent, detailed planning is due to be submitted early January 2008 and work on the five year scheme is expected to start Spring 2008.

Russell Legg, director at Frontier Homes said: "Frontier Homes was formed earlier this year to focus on fully developing residential and mixed use schemes, moving away from the original ethos of Frontier Estates who traditionally sold on these residential elements. Northampton is one of the first schemes to fall under this new division and the new specialist team.

"This is an exciting new venture for Frontier and it is critical for us to have the right partners on board. The Rider Levett Bucknall team has showed a drive and determination that matches that of the Frontier team and I believe that together we will deliver a successful and attractive scheme on time, within budget and to the benefit of the local community."
