Rider Levett Bucknall's reputation on the international arena for delivering a five-star service has been further cemented with a contract win on the holiday island of Barbados.
The group has been appointed by Bristol-based developer Westmark to project manage the development of a large number of luxury condominiums on the Caribbean island.
It is Westmark's first development in Barbados, and the Beachlands project involves demolishing existing buildings and reclamation of the surrounding beach area.
The Bristol office of Rider Levett Bucknall will provide both cost and project management services. Work on the development is expected to start early next year and is scheduled to complete in the summer of 2010.
Westmark, which is a specialist in developing brownfield sites in towns and cities across the South West into high quality residential and commercial developments, also has international projects in Poland and the US.
Rider Levett Bucknall Managing Partner Mark Williamson says: "we were appointed on this project because of our residential expertise in the UK, and this latest win is an example of one of the many developments where the company's extensive knowledge is being utilised overseas."
Westmark Managing Director Euan Cresswell says: "Rider Levett Bucknall has an excellent reputation in project management and a strong presence in Barbados. The group also has an office near our UK headquarters and is a dominant player in the South West region.
"Its industry renowned expertise and knowledge of the local market made it an ideal partner for our first development project in the Caribbean."
