A Lofty £11.5m Development Coup For Rider Levett Bucknall

Rider Levett Bucknall has cemented its relationship with one of the world's most prestigious hotel groups as it rolls out a new premier brand on to the international arena.

Starwood Hotels, which owns the Sheraton and Le Meridien brands, is looking to launch its innovative Aloft concept in eight major cities across the globe including London, Paris, Madrid, Berlin, Warsaw, Riga, Muscat and Dubai.

The concept will result in a stylish hotel chain complete with loft style rooms that offer a ‘fresh and fun alternative' for the discerning traveller.

The concept was launched at the International Hotel Investment Forum in Berlin last month and the London office of Rider Levett Bucknall was instructed to prepare cost plans to support the brand roll-out.

Plans were prepared for both urban and suburban locations and will enable Starwood to present a detailed information pack to prospective developers that may have suitable sites for the Aloft brand.

RLB's Managing Partner, Tony Catchpole, said the project is the company's first contract with Starwood Hotels and is coup for the group.

He said: "We believe that Starwood has produced a refreshingly different hotel brand that will excite prospective customers.

"We are delighted to support the group in its international roll-out of this exclusive and innovative brand."
