Property and construction consultants Rider Levett Bucknall has cemented its global relationship with international property developer Stockland Halladale advising on more than £30m of high quality office developments in central London.
This builds on the existing relationship that Rider Levett Bucknall has developed with Stockland in Australia where it is currently providing quantity surveying services on more than $200m of developments in Brisbane, Sydney and Perth.
Stockland Halladale, which boasts a portfolio under management nearing £1bn and a development programme with an end value approaching £500m, is redeveloping the former Unilever House building at No 1 Tudor Street as well as refurbishing 150,000sq ft of existing office space at Gracechurch Street.
No 1 Tudor Street is being redeveloped into 90,000 sq ft of speculative office space over seven floors. The external elevation of the building carries a high proportion of glazing and the development deals with a number of constraints from adjoining owner party walls.
Rider Levett Bucknall has been appointed by Stockland Halladale to provide quantity surveying and employers agent services on the £21m development which is scheduled to complete in summer 2009.
Work is nearing completion on the £12m Gracechurch Street development and is expected to be finished in early autumn. Rider Levett Bucknall has provided quantity surveying, employer’s agent and CDM supervisor services on the refurbishment of this 150,000 sq ft office refurbishment project, which has been undertaken within a very quick timeframe.
Matthew Brooker, partner at the London office of Rider Levett Bucknall, says: "We are pleased to be involved with these city centre office developments. The projects have demanded the highest level of service reflecting the degree of constraints expected when redeveloping in central London in a buoyant market".
