Rider Levett Bucknall Cements Multi-Million Pound Office Deal

Rider Levett Bucknall's dominance in the South West property and construction market has been reinforced with a contract to deliver a prestigious office development in Bristol city centre.

The practice has been appointed by one of the region's leading developers, Cubex, to project manage The Paragon development on Victoria Street.

The £35m development will create more than 74,000 sq ft of grade A office space over five floors. In addition, The Paragon will have around 3,000 sq ft of retail space and basement underground parking for 40 cars.

The project in the historic Redcliff area of the City involves the careful demolition of the previous post war buildings and an archaeological investigation of the medieval properties that once occupied the site. Work is scheduled to start in September and is expected to complete in early 2009.

As lead consultants on the project, the Bristol office of Rider Levett Bucknall is providing project management, CDM co-ordinator and quantity surveying services.

It is the second time Rider Levett Bucknall has worked with Cubex. Earlier this year it was appointed to project manage the College Square House office development at Harbourside on a sensitive and historic site adjacent to Bristol Cathedral.

Mark Williamson, Managing Partner at the Bristol office of Rider Levett Bucknall, says the contact further cements the group's relationship with its new and influential client.

He says: "The Paragon, which will be a prestigious office building in the very heart of Bristol, underlines Cubex's reputation as one of the premier commercial developers in the South West. Rider Levett Bucknall is very proud to be lead consultant on this project."

Gavin Bridge, director at Cubex, says: "It is as a result of our trust in Mark and his colleagues that we have placed £45m of development with Rider Levett Bucknall in the past 12 months".
