Chairman's Foreword

As an independent employee owned business, corporate responsibility is at the core of our values and is firmly anchored in our corporate culture.

We recognise that in carrying out our business we cause environmental economic and social impacts, both good and bad. It is our responsibility to manage these impacts with the same degree of care and rigour as any other aspect of our business.

As a global provider of construction and property advice, we strongly believe in responsible business practice. This means conducting business in a manner which encourages sustainable growth whilst at the same time demonstrating a high degree of corporate responsibility.

We strive to act responsibly for the long term in how we do business. Our CR strategy is integral to our corporate strategy. We regularly consult with our stakeholders to make sure that we understand and meet their needs. This includes our employees, customers shareholders and communities.

Our Corporate Responsibility Programme

Corporate Responsibility in all of its three key areas (economic, environmental and social) is a major focus of our business. CR will take on even more importance as society increasingly looks to the business world to take a lead role on delivering sustainability.

Our CR programme covers a broad spectrum of activities including the management of our relations with our employees, customers, suppliers and the community as well as the management of our performance in respect of standards of business conduct, environment, human rights and diversity.

Our programme covers all our business operations. It is overseen at group level by our group CR Manager Phil Higham, who reports to the Management Board. Nominated managers throughout the businesses are responsible for managing and implementing our CR programme across our operational regions and units.
